Zoom Video Conferencing Guide

Learn how to install, join, and host Zoom meetings safely and confidently.

1. Installing Zoom

• On Computer: Go to zoom.us/download and select "Zoom Client for Meetings." Download and install.
• On Mobile: Search for "Zoom" in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), then download and install.

2. Joining a Meeting

• Click the invitation link provided by the host, or open Zoom and click "Join a Meeting."
• Enter the Meeting ID and Passcode if prompted.
• Select "Join with Computer Audio" and, if desired, turn on your video.
• Use the toolbar options to mute/unmute, start/stop video, and view participants.

3. Hosting a Meeting

• Sign in at zoom.us or open the Zoom app and click "New Meeting."
• Share the meeting link or ID and Passcode with your guests via email or text.
• Enable "Waiting Room" and use "Mute All" to manage audio.
• Use "Share Screen" to present documents, slides, or videos.

4. Security Best Practices

• Always use meeting passcodes and the Waiting Room feature.
• Keep Zoom updated to the latest version via the Help menu > "Check for Updates."
• Only share meeting links with invited participants.
• Lock the meeting once all participants have joined (Host controls).
